I haven't really allowed for external photos from SLR cameras but there is no reason they cannot be supported. We extract photos directly from the FUll HD video and these photos are stored in the root folder of the DVD.

It would be easy to switch the source folder for photos to another location such as a second card reader. You could do this now by setting the extras folder in the DVD Architect template to another location but they won't currently be archived with the customer's video.

I'll see if I can work out an easy way to accommodate SLR photos into the work flow.

SLR photos are fully supported now and will be available in the next release.

I needed it for the weekend just gone because I was taking photos on Issy's Display Weekend. I'm still waiting for the last couple of videos to upload, then I'll add all the display jumps from the weekend to the fun jumps forum. We jumped Beaver Cay out on the Great Barrier Reef. It was all time.

Hi Mick,

Just wondering what the latest is on swoopware supporting more than one type of SLR card.

The short answer is nothing as yet.

Would two or three SLR source folders be enough for you guys or do you need unlimited source folders?

The long answer is I'm still working on the help documentation and have that at the top of my priorities. I can't fully implement this feature as a quick fix because it requires a database change. I plan to split the database and allow the customer database to be hosted on SQL Express or full SQL Server to better support Networked computers. This requires a fair bit of work to manage version control and schema modifications.

I could potentially add a quick fix that adds a second SLR source folder but doesn't use the database to store the value. This would be fairly simple.

I lost all of February to cyclone Yasi. We had relatively minor damage compared to our Northern friends but a massive amount of clean up work and more to go. I'm back on track now and will release a new version of the help this weekend. I'll try and add this feature for that release but it will be a temporary change.

Thanks Mick,

We only need 2 SLR source folders. One for the guys using SD cards and one for the guys using compact flash cards. At the moment we have swopware pointing to the SD portion of the card reader as thats what a majority of the outside camera guys are using.

But we still need it to be able to point to the compact flash portion of the card reader aswell. Otherwise we are having to burn an independednt disc of images for some of our outside camera guys.

Our system is stable ATM so I will take your advise as to wether it would be better for us to wait until the full database change?

I'll add a second SLR source folder this weekend as a temporary work around. It'll be solid for the interim! Airlie Beach need it as well because they have some stock photos from the islands they include on every DVD.

We're also getting a mix of CX100 and CX110 so I need a way to quickly switch between source media folders. Still thinking about that one. 😎
